about
This tune was written for the New Feathers Anthology, which is an online literary 'zine. The subject for the spring edition was "hope" who turned into a young woman in this tune. I think she may be the daughter of a lost lover... seems that way anyway...
lyrics
Hope came today
Been so long now since I watched her drive away
I have always been so fond of her
But she
She is a wanderer
She reminded me of you
And all the hard times that we both went through
In the nighttime we would lie awake
And dawn
Would never break
Heaven is only in the Bible
Down here, we’ll settle for survival
We hung out for a while
I saw you in the way she crinkles when she smiles
And though I miss you every single day
She chased
My blues away
I hope she settles down
She sure knows how to brighten up this dreary town
There’s a certain way she radiates
The light
That she creates
Heaven is only in the Bible
Down here, we’ll settle for survival
Hope came by today
I hope she never goes away
